This week on General Hospital..Holiday miracles happen for Maxie and Molly; Jake and Elizabeth get closer; and Dr. Obrecht does yet another inappropriate thing fueled by good intentions.
Alexis is at the courthouse with Nina and Franco. She is there to defend Nina, but still refuses to help Franco. Franco’s own counsel arrives, but Franco doesn’t seem to have a lot of faith in him. When the arraignment begins, Nina pleads not guilty by reason of insanity, which the judge allows. Franco, however, is not so lucky. Despite Scotty’s presence, the judge deems Franco a flight risk and sends him to Pentonville, which sends Nina off the deep end, thus proving that she is still very unstable.
At Pentonville Johnny and Sonny go toe to toe. Sonny is not convinced that Ric is still alive. Johnny reminds Sonny that if he doesn’t sign over his territory that Ric will die. Sonny tackles Johnny and is about to stab him with a sharpened toothbrush when Franco arrives. Looks like the play yard just got a little more interesting! Seeing Franco gives Johnny and Sonny the chance to team up. They both hate Franco, citing all the crimes he did against their loved ones. Sonny decides to frame Franco by planting his shiv on him. Franco gets caught and dragged to solitary confinement by the guards.
Jordan arrives at the Jerome Art Gallery to get some dirt on Julian, namely proof that Ric is indeed alive and where he is. Shawn arrives and tries to get Ric’s location out of her. Jordan swears she doesn’t know, so Shawn says he will handle this. Unbeknownst to them, Carlos arrives just in time to eavesdrop. Panicked Carlos heads to the garage where he pops open the trunk of the car where Ric is bound and gagged. He is about to shoot Ric when Shawn and Jordan burst in! Here comes the cavalry! Carlos storms off, promising Jordan that he will inform Julian of her betrayal. Shawn helps Ric out of the trunk and Ric declares he is ready to see his daughter.
Maxie visits Nathan at General Hospital where she laments missing yet another Christmas with her daughter Georgie. Nathan urges Maxie not to give up hope and tells her to meet Alexis at the courthouse. After some prodding, Maxie does. Alexis has a surprise for her: Judge Walters changed his mind! Maxie can hop on the next flight to Portland and be with her daughter just in time for the holiday! Thrilled Maxie returns to the hospital where she tells Nathan the good news. Nathan doesn’t seem all that surprised; he is just pleased to see Maxie so happy. Maxie asks him to come with her, but he reminds her that he isn’t well enough to travel. They decide to celebrate Christmas early with a kiss and a gift card to the Floating Rib for, guess what, ribs!
